If you've been there, you know what I'm talking about. These places seem to bleed (sometimes literally) energy. Often, these lie on what I call "Spiritual Faultlines", but not always. These places seem to carry memories more than the average location, and tremendously affect anyone (even those with no concept of energy) who goes there. Sometimes, people are attracted to these places, sometimes they are driven violently away. These are places which make a huge impression upon people (not that they'll never forget), and have assisted in awakenings of several of my friends, emotionally scarring a couple others.
These places are lush, providing wonderful food for the spiritually dehydrated, and often grow beautiful, healthy plants. To those who are aware, these places stick out like a sore thumb; sometimes, an oasis in the desert: you don't notice it's there until you're upon it; sometimes, it's a "community centre" with highways leading up to it. I've spent extensive time in two places of power, and each time my spiritual abilities have heightened. The first place of power was as the example of the oasis: Now that I am aware, I see the area around it is spiritually barren, for the most part, but as you approach it, wildlife becomes a little bit more healthy; still, setting foot on the grounds, it's like a great wave just hit you: the power is enormous, but not such that would cripple a person or spirit; it's much more like a recuperative spring, or a valuable oasis, providing water for the dehydrated in the middle of the desert.
The second is the college campus at which I currently take residence. It's like a lake, with many streams flowing into it; though it's pressed against a city, it suffers none of the suffocation of life a city normally imposes; it and the areas surrounding are lush, fertile grounds, with beautiful plants, and spiritual energy flowing freely; even the stretch of highway nearby feels much better than other sections.
I get the feeling that these spiritual "lakes" are natural, as opposed to the product of many humans passing through at one time or another.
Feel free to discuss your impressions of such "sites of power". ^_^ |
