As of recent, I've heard a bit about the legendary creature "Cthulu" - (cha-thew-lew). Well, I should say I've more than heard about it.
It does exist in the astral; I know since I AP'd (astral projected), went to its location (somewhere in the pacific ocean, forget where exactly). Rather, I myself did not go- I sent out two sentry cameras, hooked to my mind to give me live feed of where I send them, along with an escort of 10 giant demons I randomly summoned and took control of.
The group got no farther than 50 feet in a "cave" underwater, when there was suddenly a huge current pulling everything inward. I then lost signal with my cameras. As I later came to conclusion, the "cave" was actually the mouth of the monster Cthulu. Damned huge if I do say so myself.
I am on a quest to weaken this creature before I take it head on. A while ago I had an astral dream where I was walking in the woods and tripped over a root from a large tree. This guy came out of the tree stump (a door had slid open, revealing a hollow stump) and he dragged me in, down to an underground meeting place of a sort. Turns out these people worship Cthulu, make sacrifices to it. Each sacrifice strengthens the monster. There are about 700 of these cults who worship Cthulu. I seek to take them all out and finish the monster.
My cause for doing so? Purely adventure, not to mention it is most likely a being of evil.
Some notes about the cults if you should ever encounter one: All members of the cult are naked, wander around their hideouts with no clothing at all, and they decorate their hideouts with red/gold table cloth, banners, etc.
I'm not asking for help (though it is welcome) but this is more of a story for entertainment to the rest of you. Read and comment at your own will. _________________ Have X-fire? Add: garenzo314 |

"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn"
Hastur! Hastur! Hastur!
This is the testimony of all that I have seen, and all that I have learned, in those years that I have possesed the Three Seals of MASSHU. I have seen One Thousand and-One moons, and surely this is enough for the span of a mans life, though it is said the Prophets lived much longer. I am weak, and ill, and bear great tired- ness and exaustion, and a sigh hangs in my breast like a dark lantern, I am old.

Perhaps, yes. What I met was the astral body of, equivalent to what humans would call "cthulu". _________________ Have X-fire? Add: garenzo314 |

It is conceivable that Lovecraft saw these things, possibly astral entities, and realized no one would ever believe him. So just wrote it up as fiction.
Myself, I've experienced things far outside human 'normal' and very few energy-workers I've talked with have had similar experiences. Usually it's masters of the craft that can actually discuss such things rationally, from their own experiences.

| and it is just as likely that he did not Some people take the necroncon to heart and it is generally understood by anyone who actually has read lovecraft that he made it up in four years as well as his book after he got marriaged |

I hope you ALL know that Cthulu is a bloody H.P. Lovecraft fictional character, with that in mind, Garenzo alot of the things you mention sound similar to the books. Even if the thing IS real, why the hell would you go after it for NO REASON. Alot of animals become endangered/extinct just because of the joy of the hunt. Also, how do you know that what? 700 cults sacriface to this monster? Do you think that a person would have at least noticed the beasts energy? Or all the people that would be dissapearing? Your also saying that you, single handedly, are going to "takeout" 700 cults with at least, what, 10 members each? Seeing how its a god, don't you think theyd all be awakened? And able energy workers? Or that Cthulu would notice you and decide to kill you?
All the latter being HYPOTHETICAL of course.
Also, if the bloody thing IS real, i don't see why anyone would really want to have anything to do with it. Sure as hell scares the shit out of me. Even just the pictures. _________________ The Root of All Evil Is The Love Of Power And Money... |

we forget ... the act of belief and faith in a thing is very powerful. Cthulu is either:
An astral creature that Lovecraft was able to tap into ...
Something he heard about in some old myth and blew it up from there ...
A drug-created experience blown out of proportion ...
Totally fictional and a unique way of expressing himself ...
Those who have read Necronomicon could have easily been in any of those states as well while reading it, creating a link of belief between the text and the reader. The reader believes ... the reader creates the energy to back up the belief.
Not much different than when we talk about pantheons from around the world. We don't seem to question those too much, do we? Including this tribal volcano god called YHWH-Jehovah.

You can't awaken cthulu 'cause he must be awaken simultaneously with the other ancient gods. However, you can drain him or use his energies to make your own business, a kinda interesting and usefully stuff... _________________ ... |

Hm...
Cthulu is indeed written about by Lovecraft, who in turn was inspired by Summarian mythos, if I remember correctly.
Yes, like any god form, there are some significant energies involved in the pattern, enforced if nothing else by Lovecrafts literature, although it does feel like some of the primal energies that can be found in the 'old' (hard to put a time reference on a state existing beyond non linear time) chaos before the space we now percieve was limited in dimension.
You asses it as evil? And wish to destroy it out of sport and adventure, without any knowledge of what it may be or what its intentions are?
Might want to rethink your labeling and make sure you cant hang that nametag around your own neck first.

Well, I have heard a lot about kids making constructs when they begin to personify their imaginary friends, so imagine how powerful the entity would be if 700 cults DID exist to add energy into the being. It would be rather powerful, I am sure.... _________________ knowledge is my sword, wisdom my shield |

True enough, but I was just adding some information of HOW Cthulu could exist, not saying that all gods or even this creature come from this, just putting it down as a possibility. _________________ knowledge is my sword, wisdom my shield |
